How do I become a member of YHA Australia?
As part of your first night’s stay at one of our properties, you will become a member of YHA Australia at no additional cost. If you are an Australian resident but won't be staying at a YHA in Australia, you can become a member for $15 through our online application form.
How long is my membership valid for?
Membership is initially valid for two years.
How is my membership renewed?
Each time you stay at a YHA in Australia your membership will be renewed for two years from the check-in date (at no additional cost). If you won't be staying at a YHA in Australia and wish to renew, you can do so online for $15 by submitting your application and payment here.
How do I get access to MyYHA?
Sign up (you will receive an email with a link to verify your email address) or login to yha.com.
How do I get 10% when I stay with YHA?
Sign up or log in to MyYHA on yha.com to redeem your discount. By booking on yha.com you'll always receive our exclusive discounted rates.
I'm having trouble logging into MyYHA.
If you are trying to request a new password but do not receive an email, it means we don't have a registered login for you and you will need to create a new one here.
How do I access my membership card?
Membership cards can be accessed via MyYHA.
There a few reasons why your membership card may not be available:
- Your membership is not yet activated - if you haven't stayed with us before, you will become a member once you have checked-in.
- Your login email does not match the email address we have on your membership (contact YHA Membership).
- You booked through a third-party (eg. booking.com) and we don't have your personal email on your membership (contact YHA Membership).

Does YHA issue physical membership cards?
No, YHA no longer issues physical membership cards.
Will my digital membership card be accepted by discount providers and at overseas properties?
Yes.
I am a YHA/HI member in my home country - will I also become a member of YHA Australia if I stay at one of your properties?
Yes, you will become a member with YHA Australia as part of your first night's stay. Your membership with your home association however is still valid.
I didn't book direct with YHA - do I still become a member when I check-in?
We want everyone to be part of YHA, so yes, you will become a member when you check-in at your first YHA property. It is important you give us your personal email address on arrival so we can email your membership card to you after you have checked-in.
I didn't book while logged in to MyYHA - did I still get the discounted MyYHA rate?
In order to receive the discounted MyYHA rate, you must be logged into MyYHA prior to making your booking.
