Introducing Y-Jobs: A Tourism Jobs Board from YHA Australia

YHA has always cared deeply about creating community and inspiring personal growth. With 40 properties around Australia, YHA has long been one of the top accommodation providers for the 300,000 working holiday makers arriving in Australia each year.

Over the last two years, we have witnessed first hand the staffing crisis within the tourism and hospitality sector caused by the absence of international working holiday makers and immigration restrictions, but with borders now open, YHA is excited to play a part in the recovery of our industry and support working holiday makers returning to Australia. This is why we’ve created Y-Jobs; an online jobs board that seamlessly connects hiring tourism and hospitality companies with students and working holiday makers looking for work across Australia. 

Connecting Working Holiday Makers with Tourism Jobs

As part of our ongoing mission to provide travellers with a holistic travel experience in Australia, we are expanding food and beverage services, developing co-working spaces, evolving our experience offering – and now providing travellers a connection to jobs.

Historically, many of our tourism and hospitality partners have looked to us to assist in finding employees – from advertising on physical job boards within our properties to requesting links to our database. Offering local jobs through Y-Jobs is the next logical evolution of our mission to support travellers in Australia while engaging meaningfully with industry partners.

About Y-Jobs

What types of jobs will be available? 

Y-Jobs will feature tourism and hospitality jobs – any role that supports the industry and at any level. Job seekers will be able to find and apply for barista, restaurant, hotel or boat staff, administration, marketing, accounts and tour guides positions (& more!). Volunteer positions and paid internships will also be available.

Who can apply for the jobs on Y-Jobs? 

Anyone interested in working in the tourism and hospitality business can apply to positions on Y-Jobs. However, the platform will specifically target working holiday makers and students.

Where are the jobs located? 

All over Australia! Being in the travel game ourselves, we have made it super simple to highlight whether the job offerings are remote or onsite.
