Dharug/Gundungurra Country
Say "Warami", (hello) in the Dharug language when you arrive at Katoomba and don't be in a hurry to say "Yanu" (goodbye) too quickly as there are so many amazing indigenous cultural experiences and artifacts that can be discovered in the local area.
The word Katoomba is thought to have dervided from Kedoombar (or Go Doom Ba, Arcartoomba, Goodomabah), derived from the Gundungurra word meaning 'falling waters' (Source: Creative Spirits) and as you enjoy the natural wilderness of the area you will be in danger of getting lost in over 40,000 years of history as well.
