Energy Efficiency:

  • Solar-powered outdoor lighting.
  • Low energy motion-sensor lighting: no need for lights on in empty rooms.
  • Low energy bulbs keep our property well lit, but doesn’t cost the earth.
  • Energy-efficient heating and cooling system installed in June 2024, including smart thermostats in rooms.
  • Active promotion of public transport options – the easiest way to reduce your carbon footprint!
  • Get educated with signage encouraging guests to turn off lights.
  • Participate in Earth Hour.

Waste Minimisation:

  • Recycling stations are available in rooms, kitchens, and office areas, where we recycle a wide range of items, including printer cartridges, paper, beer cans, plastic containers, light bulbs, old batteries, and even clothing!
  • On-property composting is implemented for organic waste.
  • We participate in the Return and Earn Program, with all refunds donated to our charity, Travel to Learn.
  • Any food left after the check-out date is placed in the free food basket for other guests to use.
  • Surplus food is donated to the local community.

Water Saving:

  • Our showers and taps are 3 stars! 3 WELS stars for efficiency that is, our toilets? Dual flush for ultimate bathroom efficiency.
  • Water-efficient laundry practices with front loader washing machines, they save hundreds of litres each year! 
  • Get educated with signage encouraging guests to take shorter showers, turn off taps while brushing teeth, report leaks to become a sustainability superstar!
