No Worries Competition Terms & Conditions
By participating in the No Worries competition (the 'Competition'), you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and represent that you satisfy all of the eligibility requirements below.
Competition Sponsor
- The Promoter is YHA Ltd. (ABN 94 008 387 791) of 11 Rawson Place, Sydney NSW 2000, Tel. (02) 9261 1111.
- No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this Competition.
- By entering this campaign, entrants may agree to receive information and marketing communications from YHA Ltd.
Competition Partners
- The No Worries competition partners include: Tourism & Events Queensland, South Australia Tourism Commission, Greenfleet and World Nomads.
Competition Eligibility
Officers and employees of the promoter (YHA Ltd) and its partners associated with this Competition, including Tourism & Events Queensland, South Australia Tourism Commission, Greenfleet and World Nomads are ineligible to enter the Competition, as are their immediate families.
- The Competition is open to residents of any country or jurisdiction other than those in which a Competition of this form is prohibited by law or where the Competition is subject to registration requirements (including without limitation Brazil, Colombia, Crimea, Iran, Italy, North Korea, Quebec, Sudan and Syria). Accepting and using the prize will be subject to all relevant Governmental and legal obligations and regulations, including winners qualifying for and receiving any necessary visas and entry requirements into Australia.
- Entrants of the Competition must be at least 18 years old at the time of entry.
- The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of eligibility. Decisions as to eligibility will be made in the Promoter's absolute discretion, and no correspondence will be entered into in relation to any such decision.
Competition Period
- The Competition starts on 11 August 2023 at 11am Australian Eastern Standard Time ('AEST') and ends on 22 September 2023 at 4pm AEST (the ‘competition period’). Entrants are responsible for determining the corresponding time zone in their current location.
How to Enter the Competition
- This Competition is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each entry will be individually judged, based upon individual creative merit.
- To enter, entrants must during the competition period visit: https://www.yha.com.au/promotions/campaigns/no-worries and complete the Competition entry form in full and in English.
- For an entry to be considered valid, Entrants must provide their:
- First name
- Last name
- Email address
- Country of residence
- Age range
- Traveller type
- Submission telling us how you're planning to travel more sustainably on your next trip in 50 words or less.
- The Promoter is not responsible for any incomplete, delayed or misdirected entries or entries that cannot be delivered due to network disruptions or congestion, technical issues or for any other reason. Additionally, Entrants are responsible for any costs associated with entering the competition or accessing the entry-form.
- Only one entry is permitted per person. If the Promoter suspects that a person has submitted multiple entries using pseudonyms, it may disqualify all of those entries.
- All entries must be an independent creation by the entrant and free of any claims that they infringe any third-party rights.
- Entries must not have been published previously and/or have been used to win prizes in any other competitions.
- The Promoter may request information from an Entrant to confirm whether an entry is valid, and may disqualify any entry that fails to meet its validity requirements in its absolute discretion.
- The Promoter further reserves the right to disqualify any entry which, in the opinion of the judges, includes objectionable content, including but not limited to profanity, nudity, potentially insulting, scandalous, inflammatory or defamatory language. Any such decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Selection & Notification of the Competition Winner
- Entries will be judged at YHA Ltd 11 Rawson Place, Sydney NSW 2000, with judging commencing on 24 September 2023 at 9AM AEST, and concluding no later than 9 October 2023. Judges will score eligible submissions based on creativity, originality and adherence to the Competition brief.
- YHA Ltd will notify the winning entrant by email within 7 days of the date of selection and will publish the winner’s name on the YHA Australia Facebook Page and yha.com.au within 21 days of the conclusion of judging.
- If YHA Ltd is unable to contact the winner within fourteen (14) days of the judging process concluding, and YHA Ltd has made every effort to contact them with the information provided by the entrant then YHA Ltd may award the prize to another valid entrant. The YHA Ltd decision is final in relation to all aspects of this Competition and no correspondence will be entered into.
Competition Prize Overview
- One winner will be awarded the ‘No Worries’ prize package (‘Prize’) which includes (subject to individual provider terms and exclusions, detailed below):
- Up to AUD $2000 towards international flights to Australia for the winner and a friend

Total prize value is AUD $10,000.
- Carbon offsetting of travel will be done through native revegetation in Australia with Greenfleet Australia and paid for by YHA Australia. It includes:
- Round-trip international flights (x2)
- Flights from Cairns to Adelaide (x2)
- 14 nights' accommodation (x2)
- 14 days of travel (includes travel, energy and food consumption) (x2)
- Spending money, additional flight costs, transfers, meals, taxes, passports, visas, extra accommodation, items of a personal nature, inoculations, travel to and from departure point, additions to stipulated itineraries and offered flights and all other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the winner. Unless expressly stated, all other expenses become the responsibility of the winner.
- The prize must be redeemed as a whole between 17th November and 1st December 2023, it is non-transferable and non-redeemable for cash. Any attempt to resell or auction all or any part of this prize will result in an immediate cancellation of the prize. Prize cannot be exchanged for another itinerary. In the event that, for any reason whatsoever, a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize. Both parties must travel together.
- Once booked in, no changes can be made. The promoter reserves the right to substitute any component of the prize for an itinerary of equal value at their discretion and to withdraw or amend the Competition as necessary due to circumstances outside its control.
- The Prize cannot be gifted to other persons in lieu of the winner not being able to travel. Should the winner not be able to complete all aspects of the itinerary within the period of prize validity, the remaining items shall be forfeited without any replacement for their value. The Prize winner will be required to agree to and sign to YHA Ltd’s booking conditions when booking itinerary otherwise prize will be forfeited.
- It is the traveller's personal responsibility to ensure that they have valid documentation, including but not limited to: a valid and in-date passport, appropriate and valid entry visas (where applicable), such documents as are required to meet Covid-19 health requirements and a valid and current driving licence which meet the requirements of Australia’s immigration and other relevant laws and regulations. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the traveller/s. If a traveller is unable to make use of some or all of the Prize due to their documents not being accepted, they will forfeit the Prize (or that part of it which they cannot access by virtue of that rejection).
- The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including, but not limited to, indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury which is suffered or sustained, in connection with the Prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by laws, in which case it will be limited to the greatest extent possible to the cost of resupplying the relevant part of the Prize.
Name and Likeness Rights
- If you are a selected as a winner, except where prohibited by law, by entering into the Competition, you consent and give permission to the use of your name, city of residence, likeness and prize information, without limitation, for the use in advertising, marketing, and promotional purposes (including in publicly-displayed advertising and in a publicly-distributed winner list) by the Promoter and its partners without requiring us to obtain further permission or to provide you with any additional compensation.
- As a condition of being awarded any Prize, except where prohibited by law, you may be required to execute a consent to the use of your name, hometown, aural and visual likeness and prize information, without limitation, for advertising, marketing, and promotional purposes without further permission or compensation. You agree to provide such a consent as soon as reasonably practicable after receiving a written request from the Promoter for this.
- By entering this Competition, you consent to being contacted by the Promoter for any purpose in connection with this Competition.
License to Competition Submissions
- By submitting a competition entry (‘Entry'), you:
- warrant that you are the creator and owner of the copyright in your Entry;
- grant the Promoter and its partners a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, world-wide, assignable and sub-licenceable licence to use, modify, adapt, publish, distribute, translate, create derivative works from, and otherwise exploit, your Entry;
- agree to waive all Moral Rights (as that term is defined in s189 of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), or any international equivalent to that provision) in relation to your Entry;
- acknowledge that the Promoter and its partners have no obligation whatsoever to make use of your Entry, nor to store or retain copies of it;
- agree to do and sign all things reasonably requested by the Promoter to effect its rights pursuant to this clause.
No Facebook Endorsement
- This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or its parent company Meta Platforms, Inc (together ‘Facebook’). Facebook membership and the use of Facebook generally are subject to Facebook’s prevailing terms and conditions of use, available at facebook.com.
- Entrants understand that they are providing their information to the Promoter and not to Facebook. Entrants are solely responsible and liable for the content of their entries and any other information they transmit to other internet users via Facebook. To the extent permitted by law, each Entrant agrees to indemnify, defend and forever hold harmless, Facebook and its associated agencies and companies, against any and all losses, actions, claims, costs, expenses and damages (of any nature) which may be incurred by an entrant in respect of the entrant’s participation in the Competition. Any questions, comments or complaints about this Competition must be directed to the Promoter and not to Facebook.
YHA Australia Privacy Statement
- YHA Ltd (ABN: 94 008 387 791) collects and handles your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy which can be accessed at https://www.yha.com.au/privacy/. When you enter the Competition, we collect the personal information you provide. If you win the Competition, we may collect further information from you.
- We collect this information so that we can administer the Competition, provide the Prize, comply with applicable laws, and promote and market products and services of ours and our partners. Without your information, we may not be able to enter you into the Competition or provide the Prize and you may miss out on receiving valuable information from us. We may disclose your personal information to entities who help us in administering the competition and providing the Prize including prize sponsors, suppliers and deliverers, and to authorities responsible for the regulation of gaming and lotteries, other government agencies or where required by law.
- Competition winners’ names will also be published as set out in the Terms and Conditions or required by relevant gaming and lottery legislation. You have a right to access your personal information that we hold, and may ask us to correct this. Intellectual Property
- All intellectual property comprised in materials developed as part of, or used in the promotion of the Competition are owned by the Promoter. The Promoter reserves all rights in respect of that material.
General Terms & Conditions
- The Competition and these Official Rules will be governed, construed and interpreted under the laws of Australia. This Competition is subject to all applicable federal and state laws and is void where prohibited or where applicable law requires the Promoter to register this Competition.
- If any provision of these Competition terms and conditions is deemed unenforceable or unlawful, that section will be read down to the extent necessary to enable its enforcement, or if that is not possible, the relevant section shall be severed and the remainder of the provision will continue with full force and effect.
- Entrants who violate these Official Rules, violate any law, rule or regulation in connection with participation in the Competition, tamper with the operation of the Competition or engage in any conduct that is detrimental or unfair to the Sponsor, the Competition or any other entrant (in each case as determined in the Sponsor's sole discretion) are subject to disqualification from entry into the Competition.
- We reserve the right at any time and from time to time to vary, discontinue (temporarily or permanently) this Competition with or without prior notice due to reasons beyond our control (including but not limited to, in the case of actual or suspected fraud, natural disaster, epidemic, pandemic, war, or other act of God). Our decision in such matters is final and binding. No correspondence will be considered.
- We are not liable for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, communications line failure, theft or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries. We reserve the right to disqualify any individual who has tampered with the entry process or any other aspect of this Competition.
